Reliance Jio - WiFi calling

Voice & Video over WiFi (VoWiFi) facility is recently launched by Reliance Jio. This facility allows Jio users to make and receive voice and video calls over a WiFi connection using their existing Jio phone number. This feature is supported in about 150 handsets across the country. Jio has been working on this facility and testing this service from past few months to provide a great experience to their customers at it's launch. This facility will be enabled pan- India between 7 January and 16 January, 2020.

Director of Jio, Akash Ambani said that Jio is constantly working for enhancing the customer experience. VoWiFi will give a great experience a Jio customer who is using over 900 minutes of voice calls every month.


1. It enable you to make more stable and clear voice and video calls over WiFi networks.

2. You can make voice and video calls from anywhere in India. It is best for the places where there is a general network problem.

3. It can work on any WiFi network around the country.

4. It will extend your network coverage and keep you connected always.

5. It will make your calls crystal clear and much stable as it will will switch over WiFi and mobile network to give you best experience.

6. You can also make WiFi calls during roaming.


To enable WiFi calling in your handset, you need to follow the instructions below:

• Go to settings in your handset
• Search for WiFi calling
• Switch on WiFi calling option in your handset
• Connect to a good WiFi network
• Make call through the traditional process

Switch on both WiFi network and mobile network on your phone. Your mobile phone will automatically toggle between the mobile network and WiFi to provide you a best experience.


Anyone who has a smartphone that is capable of WiFi calling can use this facility. You just need an active Jio tariff plan.


There is no additional charge to avail this offer. It is included in your existing voice plan. Only WiFi calls to international numbers will be charged on the basis of International call rates (ISD call rates).
