How much weight can you carry in a domestic flight may vary from carrier to carrier.
There are different baggage limits for different airlines. In India, the by default limit of baggage is as follows.Carry on bag - 8 kgs
Check-in bag - 15 kgs
Each passenger is allowed to carry one carry on bag and one check-in bag during travel in domestic flights.
The passenger is permitted to carry one carry on bag along with one item of personal use.
The items of personal use include a handbag, purse, overcoat, camera bag, laptop bag, blanket, books, briefcase, portable PC, etc.
This carry on bag must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat which is in front of you.
The carry on bag must not weigh more than 8 kgs whose dimensions are not more than height 55 cms + length cms + width cms.
Passengers are allowed to carry one check-in bag on a domestic flight during air travel.
The checked-in bag must not weigh more than 15 kgs whose dimensions must not be more than 158 cms or 62 inches.
If you want to carry excess baggage, you will be charged a heavy baggage fee which could be a per-item fee or a per kilogram fee.
Generally, it charges Indian rupees 250 per kg of extra baggage.
